I noticed a few requests for backup options but this one is a little bit different.
I can think of three things that need to backed up: feeds, feed cache (downloaded articles) and settings. Of the three, the feeds are most important because you can always open a feed article again (unless they have deleted it on the server which is of very low probability) and you can always set up the settings again. But what about a list of feeds compiled over years, all of them arranged in a specific folder structure?
So my suggestion is for you to implement something very simple soon (if possible, of course) for the backup of feeds and then work on the backup of downloaded articles and settings.
The thing is: an option to export feeds as OPML on program shutdown to a selected folder. That's all.
